You've heard about the 600+ mile long border they have been working on to keep illegal immigrants out of the U.S. Well according to the New York Times it's going to cost us taxpayers 6.5 billion dollars for the next 20 years to maintain the fence along the U.S/Mexican border. This border has not helped in trying to keep illegal immigrant out of the U.S. I feel that it is just a waste of our money they are investing in something that is not even working.That money could be used for other things such as school related projects,Health Care, etc...
There have been many delays in trying to put up this fence and as of May New York Times says that there have been 3,363 breaches in the fence and it costs 1,300 for each repair.In my opinion that is too much money they are investing into.
